Kurt had grown bored of his endless studying in his room. So he decided to wonder into town and check up on the local bookstore. He walked in and looked around, it was cozy. He liked it. He walked up to the young woman behind the counter. "Excuse me miss, my name is Kurt Wellington and i was wondering if you have any books on the Roman Empire and the way the Romans goverened themselves." As Kurt talked he realized that his words would of been better if he had asked the wall instead of her.
"Ummmmmmmmmm check the historty isle." The young woman replyed. Kurt let out a little chuckle and nodded. "Thank you very much, have a splendid day." He said as he walked towards the history isle. As he walked, Kurt suddenly found himself thinking about Professior X and the rest of the X-Men he would never see again. C'mon Kurt, hold yourself together. Thinking about them wont bring them back.

"Hmmm." Veronica mused to herself as she glanced at a few of the books that had been in the history section. She had been looking for one book in particular, a book that she had heard some of the staff whispering about, as if it was something to be kept a secret. A book about mutants, less bluntly, the history of X-men.
Veronica was only about eleven at the time of Charles Xavier, but she wasn't too small as to not know who he was, everyone in the mutant community knew about him, he was a legend. And it was a slightly foggy memory, but Veronica often remembered walking the halls of the same mutant academy when she was twelve, even though she had only been in the midst of the X-men for two years, she still remembered the things they taught her.
Apparently this book was disguised, known only to the mutants, and Veronica was having a hard time finding it. For all she knew, she could have already glancd at it, only to have placed it back on the bookshelf.

Kurt had wandered into all the isle EXCEPT the history isle. He noticed a very attractive young woman wandering the isles aswell. She looks familiar........is she....no she cant be..Kurt thought to himself as he looked at the face of the young woman. "Excuse me miss, i couldnt help but notice that you were searching the book shelves. I too am on a book search, maybe we can help eachother?" Kurt asked as he approached her. "My name is Kurt Wellington, its my pleasure to meet you." Kurt bowed a little and took her hand and kissed it.

Kurt wellington.. the name sounded familiar to her. She blushed slightly, feeling him kiss her hand, and then gave him a curious look. It wasn't everyday that people came up to you like that. Unless if she knew him somehow? But she would have remembered him.
"I'm Veronica." she responded, forcing a slight smile in ordr to hide the feeling of utter confusion.

"It is my pleasure to meet you. What sort of book are you looking for? I am very well diveresed in all subjects. It would be my honor to aid you in your search." As Kurt spoke, he couldnt help coming back to the image of a little girl he once knew back at Xaviers Mansion. But he quickly dismissed that idea, he figured she was either dead or had gone into hiding like he once did....

"Oh, well uhm, I'm not really sure. I guess really I'm just browsing." it was half true. In a way she knew what she was looking for, and didn't at the same time. Veronica wasn't sure if he was a mutant or not, and he most likely wasn't. So for now, she'd keep everything about mutants to herself.
"What about you? Perhaps I can help you look for your book?"

"Hmmm broseing you say? Sounds good to me. Im looking for a book on the Roman Empire and the way the Romans used to govern themselves. Im interested to see if they ever had any cases of mutations. I myself am a mutant, im guessing your one too because i beleive i remember you from a long time ago." Kurt knew he just took a big leap of faith on his memory, but his memory had never failed him before. She has to be from Xaviers mansion.....she has to be

Her eyebrow raised slightly, and Veronica cocked her head to the side. He did seem familiar, but the fact that h recognized here more then she recognized him was...a bit creepy. Well, creepy was a strong connotation, a better word was odd. And perhaps, alarming?
Straightening up, she murmured something to him, in a low tone. "Have we met before?" she asked, eyes downcast in confusion.

Kurt laughed a little bit. "I do beleive so, but that is words best left to places where we are safe." Kurt said as he looked around the store. He nodded twoards a police officer that entered shortly after himself. "So, all i have to do is ask you if you remember the wind mutant. The one who protected Professer X while the mutants were out." He pointed to himself as he said Wind Mutant. "My powers have greatly been improved. But we must stop talking about this." He said as the policeman walked by. Kurt knew he had somewhat jogged her memory, but how much he didnt know.Hmm i hope that man didnt hear us...

She nodded slightly as the officer walkd by. The memory did seem familiar, but along with the others she had of her days with professor Xavier, it had quickly evansced, fading away as if it had never happened. Although time to time she would have a dream about those days, remenicing them as only dreams, and shrugging them away, leaving them as no more then forgotten thoughts.
"So..what book were you looking for again?" trying to take her mind off of the unfamiliar subject.

"I am looking for a book on the Roman Empire and how they governed themselves. I was wondering if they ever had a case of mutation, and if so, how they handled it." Kurt saied as he looked up to the Isle sign. "I do beleive i have to make my way to the History isle, but i highly doubt this store has the book im looking for." Kurt started to look around the isle they were in. Hmm where would i find this book in this town? Kurt thought to himself. "Oh, where are my manners. Do you attend the local mutant acadey?" He could tell that he was making Veronica uncomfortable, so he made a weak attempt to change the mood and the subject.

"Oh, hah yeah I teach there actualy." she said tucking a trand of hair bhind her ear, as it fell into her face. One of the disadvantages of having layered hair; some pieces in the front were too short to stay up in a ponytail.
Sh noticed how he changed the subject, and was glad. It meant he was aware, of the most likely awkward feeling she was getting talking about everything. She noticd the police officer look back at them curiously, and wondered eactly what he had heard them say. Or mayb he was taking a double take of her ears, and how mysetriously pointed they were, cat like to be exact. An unfortunate remindr of how unstable her powers were when she was nine.

"Really? You teach there? No way. I teach there aswell. I am going to teach Debate and Political Science starting next simester." Kurt said as a shocked look came acorss his face. He looked at the cop and noticed that he was radioing in something. "I do beleive we need to leave right this moment." Kurt said as he pointed to the backdoor. "Laides first."

"Thanks," she said moving ahead of him. But as soon as the oficer saw them move, he set off at a fast pac toward him. She could feel trouble stirring, and knew that she'd never be able to show her face in this bookstore again. The tension was rising, and she knew eactly why the cop was after them, they were mutants.
Of course mutants were looked down upon by humans, for reasons no other then fear of the unknowns. Rlating this to the book she was currently reading, the humans were eactly like Judge Frollo, prosocuting people who were merely different, and the mutants were like quasimodo, disfigured, and looked at as monsters.

Kurt made sure that Veronica was safely infront of him. He then turned around and screamed at the cop, knocking the man into the bookshelf behind him. As the cop hit the bookshelf, he knocked it over, causeing a domino effect. "Quickly, run out the back and get to safety. I will try to slow him and any other police that follow." Kurt turned and ran over to the cop to check his pulse and vitals.
