Ethan smiled warmly at her staring down into her clear blue eyes it was very hard to think that anything bad could be hidden behind those crystal clear pools of blue but Ethan knew differently. The tall gentle boy politely smiled as Rachel talked about what she liked to do when she switched the conversation to music however his eyes lit up,a spark there that was rarely seen.
"Music is my passion.Theres not alot in this world that I love more. You should see my vinyl and cd collection it's huge sadly it's probably one of y happiest achievements and as for the joining of the music club,I'm the president so I think you could join and I'll teach you an instrument of your choosing.Providing I can play it myself that is." Ethan half smiles the glow still evident in his eyes. When his sister had died music was what he turned to for comfort and and all of it provided security, comfort and ultimatly eased his pain it was still something he turned to at low periods but mostly he listened whenever and wherever he could.

Of course she noticed the spark in his eyes, he must have really liked music. Who could blame him. It could do wonders for the mood, she even heard somewhere some people had 'theme songs' for themselves. Yet she still didn't found a song that would match her personally, but she was trying to. It started a person's curiosity when there was a possibility of having a song that fit you perfectly. Maybe Ethan would know some that would fit her, after all her was the first in this time to get to slightly see her real self.
"It is? Good choice in a passion, you can't go wrong with music. As for the collection I'd love to see it, still don't know all the singers, bands. There are just so many that it gets mixed up in my head." When he said he was the president of music club she half sat up, supporting her weight on her elbow as she turned to look at him. Was he serious with the instrument thing? Well duh, why else would he say it then. For some reason she thought she could really trust him.
"You are the president? Talk about my lucky day." She said with a small smile. "I'm taking your word for that. What can you play? So I'd know my choices. Though personally so far I like piano and guitar best from all those instruments you have here."

Ethan thinks about her question, gently mulling it over thinking about the things he can play that she might be interested in,also he was alreayd thinking over the types of music he could introduce her to there was a word of possibility and it excited Ethan. What could he say the prospect of introducing Rachel to a world full of stuff she'd never heard really thrilled him.
"Well Rachel I play guitar, bass guitar, piano, sax and I can sing aswell." Ethan gently attempted movving his arm from underneath Rachels body only to brush acidently against the soft skin revealed where her T-shirt had ridden up.Ethan blushed madly and began to stutter out an apology. "Oh ummmm god uhh sssorry Rachel. I didint mean to." Ethans chewing softly on his lower lip face clearly showing worry,he's a nice guy and he doesn't want her thinking he's trying to make any kind of inappropriate move.

She could guess that he was thrilled at the possibility of teaching her all the stuff, he must have really loved music. Who knew, maybe it was going to rub off on her. SO far she didn't really have any favorites or knew the names of them for that matter, but music seemed sort of an instant cure. And if music was a cure this guy here had to be the best doctor she could order. Rachel could simply tell.
"Great that means you play both of my preferred instruments. Can't wait to teach. As for singing, that I can actually do without any teaching. Even if I have this thing with only singing when I'm alone." Who knew that she, who had down the fighting and her powers, could be shy in something as normal as singing. But stranger things happened in the world. Like for example two women wrestling in mud she saw on TV last night when switching channels. Now that just seemed stupid.
When his hand accidentally brushed her skin she quickly sat up on reflex, blushing. Well now that was awkward, and it seemed not only for her. "Um, that's okay. Accidents happen." She said slowly, trying to force the blush away. Easier said then done.

It wasn't that Ethan had never been with any girls he had done it had just been awhile ago and if he was ohnest he'd never felt the flutter in the pit of his stomach like he was currently,he knew it meant he was developing something for this girl as of yet he was unsure why because he'd only just met her and frankly they hadn't had the easiest of first meetings but none the less this girl was definetly the one causing the fluttery feelings in the pit of his stomach.
"I bet you've got a beautiful voice.I wouldn't be shy about it if I were you." One of Ethans main feelings about life was that it was short and that if you had something beautiful or unique you should share it with the world not squander it away."Whether you want to sing or not I'd be delighted to help you learn piano."

What he said about her voice made her blush even more, not really on purpose she picked up something from what was going around on his part. Did Ethan actually like her or something? Okay this was a situation she had little practice with, before now there was only one guy in her life and that was Franklin. Still, all of the things in here were different, probably even the like like rules. And right now she wasn't sure what she was feeling. For one, there was also Dougie, who also seemed to like her. And second, she wasn't really sure who was doing the bigger part of her thinking at this time - the Phoenix or herself.
"I, um, thanks." She got out of herself, feeling rather awkward. Not to mention the whole situation disrupted peace of her mind and she swore she could pick up thoughts of someone who lost a dog, and a couple rather deep in each other, which right now was so not what she needed. Rachel quickly tried to recall something that would calm her down, strangely enough ending up imagining aquarium fishes. So much for weird.
"Piano is good, it makes angelic sounds." She replied in an attempt to break the silence, still picturing the images that could calm her down.

When Rachel blushed all Ethan could think was that she'd worked out what he was feeling it wouldn't be a bad thing but it wouldn't be the best thing either if she'd worked it out then it made chances of a good friendship that much less and Ethan liked having friends especially friends that wouldn't make fun of his geeky passions. It wasn't that Ethan was inexperienced with girls more that he was out of practice his last girlfriend had been Ryan and that was almost a year ago they'd parted on bad terms and he'd been weary of girls ever since.
Ethan had to internaly hold his laughter as he felt the emotion rolling of of a couple near by he had no doubt Rachelhad picked up on it too but clearly it didint amuse her as much as it did him. "Piano is one of the worlds most beautiful instruments the sounds you can make on it are as near to heaven as it's possible to get on earth." Ethan smiled fiddling with a strnd of his brown hair.

Rachel really didn't know what to do about this, on one side Ethan was nice and not really bad looking. And he knew her secret, well at least one of them, and stuck around even through the pain she caused him and the threat she could mean for his life. Not everyone would be willing to do that, right? Oh she could see people all looking at her weird, being edgy around her. No, she didn't want that. She was never going to tell anyone else willingly. The girl didn't even for a second imagine the damage that could cause, already the Phoenix affected some of her actions.
It seemed that he could feel the couple, did he find that amusing at the moment? Maybe that was amusing to people of this time, to her it was just embarrassing. Again something in what she seemed odd around these people. God why couldn't she just get them? It would only take a little, borrowing someone's life experience, customs. To fit in and not attract unwanted attention to themselves. Wait did she just thought themselves? As in two people? Who the hell was thinking? Her or Phoenix? Sometimes the girl just wanted to tear her head off, empty it for all the confusion and put it back on.
"Yeah...makes you want to spread your wings and fly... " She said slightly dreamily. Alright so that may have sounded a little weird, she didn't really know. For that she'd need the ultimate guide on how to behave when you found yourself in the past.

Ethan cocked his head gently to the side looking intently over at Rachel he could pick up on the confusion radiating off of her heck it was completely obvious even to people without emphatic abilities for a person with fairly strong emphatic abilities it was even doubly obvious. Sure Ethan knew he was developing a bit of a crush on this girl but if it led to her being confused or worried heck pretty much any similar emotion he'd put a hold on it because all he really wanted was for her to be okay. The awful urge to protect had kicked in again.
"It does my Uncle used to say that playing the piano got you a little closer to god.Whether thats true or not I dont know." Ethan smiled broadly enjoying the feeling of the sun beating down on his face there was nothing quite like chilling out in the sunshine it was a feeling that cu;dn't be beaten.
(That sucked apologies.)

However confused she was at the moment, it couldn't cloud the fact that she sorta was becoming to like Ethan. In what way she wasn't sure yet, or for what reason. Okay so there were reasons, he was nice and didn't run off from her to tell about Phoenix. Plus he offered to help her learn of music and play some instrument. For the fact she was a complete stranger to him, who even caused him pain, that was sorta much to give. She wasn't sure if she even had something to give back for all that.
These relationships with others were probably even more confusing now that two were thinking in one head, and most of the time knowing what was going on in the heads of others. Did he know the feeling of it as an empath? Or was it too rude to ask that question. "This world is confusing me..." She muttered to herself, not even realizing it wasn't just said in her mind. With a sigh she sorta wished she had anyone to talk to about these sorts of things, now that Kate wasn't around anymore. No, Kate was in the future. Wonderful.
At his words she turned her head, smiling slightly bitterly. Yeah right, closer to God. "I don't know if I believe in God...when Heaven proved to be a lie...and hell the reality..." Rachel replied quietly, unintentionally her mind returning to the memories of her world.
(No biggie)

There was all sorts of latent emotion surrounding Rachel's statement about Heaven it was slightly bitter and contained far too much knowledge of things Ethan never wished to experience."I believe theres got to be something.Theres too many beautiful things in this world for there just to be a hell." Etahn shrugs sort of non chalantly his opionions are his own and whether there shared or not he doesn't mind.
"Rachel this world is confusing to most people I'd be lyeing if I said I understood it all the time but the most important thing is that you live life for now and dont dwell on past events." After his sister had died Ethan had been inconsolable all he kept doing was dwelling on what could have been instead of thinking about how his life should have been panning out.
"If it's the culture thing thats duanting I can try mybest to teach you the basics.Etiqutte and stuff." Etah gently taps his long fingers against the grass causing the grass to flatten under his finger tips.

Rachel slightly smiled at his optimism of there being something, yet it did not make her believe. Had there been a God why would he allow for all the evil to happen? There was no answer, so there had to be no God. Justice was really blind. But she rather kept quiet about that, as if not to disagree about anything with one of the few understanding people she ever met. Heck she probably wouldn't argue if he said the sky was green. Whatever floated his boat was just fine with her. However at his not dwelling in the past statement she had to look away, not saying anything for a bit.
"I can't. Not dwell on the past. If I'd stop reminding myself I fear I'd do something horrible..." Finally she looked at him again, feeling that if she didn't confide in someone it would tear her apart. "I've done some awful things in my time...things I can't fix even with all that power...power that's addictive and consuming, only thing I have. But it also caused too much harm." She said almost in a whisper, really not sure why was she telling him.
There it was, now he'd probably feel afraid of her and avoid her at all costs. At the same time it felt a little better now that she told someone at least a bit, though her heart was aching for understanding. Understanding that she didn't even have for herself. Rachel didn't say anything more, not even to the culture thing.
