Rachel approached the Fernhill Gardens, after having to ask where it was. She didn't really knew what to expect, nature wasn't really something she saw in her time. Which was why she felt so misplaced in this still not destroyed world, everything was just too good. Of course humans might have still freaked out somewhat, but at least you didn't have to run from giant Sentinel robots or brainwashed hound mutants used to track others. How she hated the fact she used to be one too, that she - brainwashed or not - had some lost lives weighing down at her conscience.
Finally able to locate the place she entered, only to have her breath taken away and eyes wide staring at it. To someone who only seen wrecks, burned down things and fighting this seemed like she accidentally stepped into heaven without realizing he died. All the grass, flowers, trees, water-garden in a bit of a distance, it made her mouth slightly open in awe. This had to be the most beautiful thing the redhead ever saw in her life.
Walking in she tried to take it all in and memorize as much as she could. Though at the same time she now knew for sure she didn't belong there, she wasn't meant to see this. It was just like a dream, all so beautiful. All gone where she came from. Stopping next to some flowers she reached out her hand and brushed it with her fingers . She didn't know what it was called, she didn't know any flowers name aside from a rose, the probably most known and remembered flower in her time. The girl even forgot she was supposed to be meeting anyone, she was so taken by the scenery.

Ethan made his way into the stunning park grounds.Fernhill was one of his favourite places to visit it was so peacefull and calm and a place the dead didint like to wander. It always gave him time to be alone and to reflect about the things that were great in his life ignoreing the things that could be better or that he wish werent part of his life at all.
Bending down slightly Ethan picked up a small pebble from the floor and skimmed it out across the water watching the little trail it left behind it as it darted acros the water almost silently. The only thing taking any notice being a duck who looked rather bemused as the stone skimmed past it's wing it qucked defiantly at the stone and despite himself Ethan giggled.
Once his amusement had worn off Ethan began walking to the iddle of the park he could feel a lifeforce there much stronger than any animal or human so he knew it must be a fellow mutant presuming it was Rachel he made his way over stepping gently behind her and clearing his throat before placing a hand to her shoulder. The sudden asault of images that hit him was enough to make his breath hitch. They were dark menacing not the normal things Ethan accidently gained from pretty teenage girls. Before he knew what he was doing he whispered so low that it was almost silent. "What are you?"

As she was gently playing with the flower between her fingers, Rachel noticed a squirrel staring down at her from a tree. It seemed almost cautious of her, but then again animals were said to have a sixth sense and she wasn't exactly the most harmless thing in this world. Wanting a little too much for it to come to her so she could touch it, pet it, the girl didn't even noticed that she mind controlled the little thing into coming to her like a loyal puppy. Something that was against her morals, had she realized.
Slowly running her fingers through it's fur she had to smile, it was just so cute. Even more so than any pictures of the creature she might have seen, since she doubted she actually spotted one for real. It was slightly strange, but in the best way possible. Truly this whole in the past thing was like a visit to some unknown paradise, these gardens being the heaven part of it. As much as she didn't belong a part of her wanted to stay forever.
Then someone cleared his throat behind her and placed his hand on her shoulder, breaking the accidental control over the squirrel, who instantly ran off faster than lightning. Rachel could tell that he probably tapped into her mind, due to the question that came and quickly stepped away, breaking the physical contact. She ended up just staring at him with slightly wide eyes before the shock wore off. "I...I'm a mutant. Like you." Okay so that was a lie, she most probably wasn't like him. But this was an unexpected situation.

Ethan backed off slightly he wasn't an idiot he could pick up on the fact she was lyeing almost instantly. There was so many emotions Ethan could feel shoved into this short female bundle to Ethan it felt like drowning his brain was screaming at him to run, that no good would come from this but something kept him rooted to the spot.
Ethan eyes glowed a crystal blue an obvious sighn that his powers were taking the best of him."Your lyeing. Why lie about a simple question?" Ethan gently tuged a strand of his brown hair behind his ear something he'd always done when his powers were taking there hold it allowed him to keep a grip on reality and what was really going on around him.
(Sorry if you dont like the direction this going.)

Rachel watched him back off slightly, she could feel this boy still picked up more with his power, it felt unpleasant, all her emotions were mixing together and she could swear she felt as if a fire started somewhere withing her. Slowly the control she held disappeared, she just wanted him to stop it. Her breathing quickened as she fought the feelings, failing miserably. She didn't even fully register his question, though she could very well register thoughts of people in the vicinity.
No, stop it, get out of my mind, get out of my feelings! Get out! Rachel thought, not realizing she sent that thought in his mind rather strongly, which could possibly cause some pain. In the emotional storm within her another force started to take control of her actions, the Phoenix. Slowly her eyes were turning the color of fire, while she worked on locking him out and fought it to break out. She couldn't afford that. Not now.
The girl slightly felt as if she was suffocating, this was the first time she was out of it enough for Phoenix to try and control. She didn't want anyone controlling her ever again. All of a sudden, and probably to shock of anyone who saw, the girl got engulfed in flames for the time of about ten seconds, before it died down and she could breathe again. She won.
{Lol not really, I like how it's going. Wondered when someone would see through her 'little white lies' ;D }

Ethan almost screamed with the searing pain shooting through his brain as Rachel yeled in his brain. He'd never witnessed power like this before it was all emcompassing he had no clear clue how she controlled something like that.Ethan knew that Rachael must be an incredibly strong mutant to be able to control that kind of power to be ohnest it wasn't what Ethan expected her to be concealing.
The type of person Ethan was meant he ignored the incredible amount of pain she'd caused him and stepped forward in some desperate kind of attempt to ease her emotional load he connected with her before suddenly realising that the girl before him who at firt seemed so innocent drew her powers from the phoenix. In a desperate bid to not kill himself Ethan mental unattached himself from Rachel before she burst into vivid range flames it was both the most and most violent thing Ethan had ever ladi eyes on.
((That sucked but it's the best I could do while talking on the phone to my friend.)

When Ethan connected with her it made the girl gasp, Phoenix apparently didn't like intruders and she was the one to feel the pain of it, well probably probably even he during the contact, but luckily he unattached himself quickly, probably realizing what she was. Or rather what she shared body with. Hell nobody in this time was even supposed to know about Phoenix, she paid enough attention to conceal it around telepaths and others with mental powers.
This boy however she wasn't ready for, didn't know of his power before the meeting. Rachel was too damn confident to admit that the Phoenix might be a very equal, even more powerful thing to deal with, she had told herself she'd handle it and that went rather well until now. Did it let her think she had the upper hand? She wasn't sure about anything anymore. This was probably the punishment brainwashed murderers got.
After managing to calm down she had to sit on the ground, not caring if it looked odd. Looking up at Ethan she knew if he told she was in deep shit. "I...I'm sorry...I didn't mean to...please don't tell anyone..." She whispered, her green eyes almost begging him.
{No biggie}

Ethans shock was buldosed by the worry and pain radiating from Rachel. As far as he could see it wasn't fair for someone who as far as he could pick was a gentle and caring person to have to deal with this kind of power. Heck Ethan would'nt wish that power on anyone let alone and unattractive red head who seemingly just wanted to fit in.
With a great amount of Effort Ethan pushed his powers to the back of his mind and sat down next to Rachael tentatively placing an arm round her shoulders."No worries Rachel I dont tell secrets." the boy offered a gentle smile and a comforting rub of the girls shoulders.

Seeing him sit down next to her brought hope, maybe he was not going to tell. Rachel knew very well how people generally thought of the Phoenix, it was a destructive and unpredictable force, one hard to control let alone tame. And now she was the Phoenix. As much as she liked to think of them as two separate beings, the more time she was bonded with it the more they were becoming one. The redhead just failed to acknowledge it which could prove to end in a disaster.
Ethan placing an arm around her shoulders was a bit of a surprise, after what she just did one would think physical contact with her was the last thing any sane person would want. But here he was, telling her he didn't tell secrets. Now that was a relief beyond anything, she really didn't want her true nature to be general knowledge. Who knew what would the staff of academy do with her 'situation', how it would end up for them if the Phoenix got angry.
"I...thank you. I usually have it under control, this was the first time it tried to break out. I guess it doesn't like intruders." She said quietly, closing her eyes as he rubbed her shoulders. That was something nobody done for her in a while. And it felt pretty good, god was she tense.

Ethan wasn't entirely sure why he sat down next to her and comforted her.He knew what power the phoenix possessed there was no way he should be getting this close if she turned she could kill him pretty much instantly, ethan didint much in the way of defencive power but there was something about Rachel that made Ethan feel as if he had to do his best to protect her and to comfort her.
"It's alright Rachel.Frankly I'm amazed you've kept it hidden this long." Inwardly Ethan was wondering why they'd faltered around him.Afterall he wasn'tthe strongest of mutants not by any means,he was the only medium he knew but apart from that he was fairly average by mutant standards.Ethan gently placed his spare hand on Rachel shoulder again rubbing slightly trying to ease the tension he could feel.
Not only was he trying to comfort her but inwardly he was marveling at the way the sun her her hair creating a sight that was equally as beautiful as anything you'd find in this park.Quite why he was thinking this way Ethan was yet to work out he should be terrified at the mere prospect of the thing Rachel controlledwithin her but instead he was thinking about her hair and the best way to comfort her, sometimes a teenage boys mind led it places it really didint need to go.

What he said made sense, not even her mother could handle the phoenix without Xavier's help. It must have seem unbelievable that just a 'kid' would be able to, even though Rachel was at this point as far away from being a kid as the center of the universe probably was. It was almost funny actually. Not that she knew much of funny considering the world she came from, dark, destroyed, tormented. God she hated that place.
"Yeah I know. But I can handle it, always had a powerful mind. I, without the Phoenix, can reach humans no matter the distance or power inhibitors. Among other things like for example make people think I'm invisible, create illusions in their minds...lots of stuff. And combining powers gives more options of what to use them for." Okay so she didn't know why she was telling him all this, he may very well freak. But for some reason now that he knew she felt like she could be more open to him. It felt nice.
How he rubbed her shoulders felt better by the second, she slowly was starting to truly loosen up and relax. It was a long while since she did that, least of all in a beautiful place like this. It seemed almost magical.

Ethan gently unhooked his arm from Rachels shoulder and layed back on the grass pulling her down with him. "So I gues that wasn't really much of an introduction." Ethan blushed a gentle shade of pink while running his fingers through the soft green blades of grass. "I'm Ethan Louis Beckett. My dad's a politician who mainly fights for equal mutant rights my mom used to teach here and my sis..." Ethan cuts off abruptly unsure as to why he was about to tell her about his twin it wasn't really something hr brought up with anyone.
Ethan quickly changes the conversation and begins to ask Rachel about herself."So anything else I should know?" ethan gently smiles pulling a blade of grass up and twiddling it throuh his fingers endlessly fasinated at i'ts gently movement.

Rachel could pout in protest when he unhooked his arm from her shoulder, but didn't have much time seeing as he pulled her down on the grass with him. She couldn't help but laugh at this, considering how the meeting started it turned out quite nice. She was thankful that he at least didn't freak out about her, and decided to keep the Phoenix a secret. At least now she could feel it didn't think Ethan a threat for now. That was a good thing, it meant no danger for him in the near future. Hopefully that would last.
Listening to him talk about his parents caught her interest, equal mutant rights were possibly a solution to prevent her future from coming to reality for this world. When the chat turned to his sister however, Rachel could tell something was wrong. And still being rather on a power high she realized his sister must have been dead. Ouch. Now that was a thing she wasn't going to go deeper into, she could tell he didn't like to talk about that.
"Well my full name is Rachel Anne Summers. My parents were both mutants, but are dead. Here and also in my time. Not much more to tell about me though." So maybe that was a bit of a lie, but she really didn't feel like telling him about her future, the hound thing, none of it.

Ethan could tell she'd picked up on what was pretty much his only dark secret but strangely it didint really bother him that she knew,he could tell that she wasn't about to tell anyone or to question him about her and so it left him more at ease with her knowing.
Ethan noded as he she told him abouther history he understood there was more to know rom the images that he picked upon but he wasn't about push it.There was no need,it wasn't information he was suppsed to know so there was little reason in pressing for more of it.
Ethan gently wrapped his arm back round Rachels shoulders he knew it wasn't his place but there was something just below the surface of Rachel that he just wanted to protect he wasn't certain what exactly it was, because frankly the power Rachel held she could kill him with so much as a wrong look, but the urge to protect was far greater than any fear he could've felt. "So what do you like tofor fun Rachel?" Ethan knew it was a lame question but he was shy and she was beautiful it tended to make a guy do and ask lame things.

She didn't quite know how much about her like Ethan picked up from the brief connection, she just hoped the part where she killed people was locked in enough for him to see. Although she couldn't put her finger on why it was important for her to keep that information from him. Probably because him knowing about the Phoenix was too much already, knowing about the unfortunate victims of her brainwashed self was completely another story. Proving that she was capable of actually killing.
Everything now just seemed so nice. The surrounding, the feeling of freedom, she didn't have to hide Phoenix anymore - he saw first hand, flames and all. Still she remembered how shocked she was when those flames first appeared around her without harming either her or her clothes. Part of her couldn't help but love it, it may have very well be shocking and violent, but oh so breath taking. The only setback seemed to be they always appeared when she used her powers to their full potential, here she couldn't afford that. And keeping that power bottled up only to use in small amounts was a semi torture, sometimes she felt like her insides were on fire from the restraint.
"For fun? Well didn't do much fun in the past. Sometimes I tend to amuse myself with my powers when there's nothing to do. I also like books, they're good for calming nerves. Or take pictures of things I find so deep it makes me want to capture it forever. And music, you people here have all kinds of music. I love that. There's music that can make you all sad, music that can make you feel happy or hyper. At least it works that way with me. Actually want to join the music club, but don't know if I can. See I don't really play any instrument, only been here two weeks and, well, let's just say I never got my hands on any in my time." She said honestly, looking at him.
