Ryan pushed through the large glass door that stood between her and what she was doing on this lovely Saturday night. Reaching up to the white cords that lead into her ears, she pulled one out and tucked it in her shirt, as the other continued to blast music from her favorite playlist.
"Hey Ted." She said, simply- as she walked past the counter and straight for the Horror Section. By now, she knew everyone in town by name. Ted was a nice guy- a mutant himself- but she didn't think anyone knew about it. He kept it quiet, but since she could hear his thoughts- she knew the truth. Sometimes, she wished that she had a better power- hell, even a small one such as enhanced sight, would be better. Hearing the secrets that should stay secrets all day long, was too much sometimes.
When Ryan was four, she couldn't sleep for days, with her parents thoughts inside her head- just the two of them, and she was already going insane. That's why her uncle 'fixed' her. Ever since, it's not hard to control- yet, she doubts it will ever be as great as he once was- and hopes that she will never be as powerful as Jean. If she turned into what killed her uncle, she didn't know what she would do.
"Hey, you get the new Hunter movie in yet?" She called out. A no, placed inside her head let her know- Ted was funny that way. He knew of her powers, and didn't stop to any cause to use them. She didn't mind. It was better that people adjusted to her, rather than feared her.
Ryan could be a real disaster- knowing the secrets of the president- they'd call her a terrorist. They already had...

Pushing through the door of the movie store, the chime of a bell went off. Evan hated the stupid bell noise, something about having everyone know your walking into a store annoied him. The sound is normally accompanied by glances from everyone in the store. Looking around he saw Ryan hidden by the rows of DVDs. She was a pretty girl, but they never really got to know each other.
Evan headed off to the back part of the room, DVD covers flashed guns, cars, explosions and girls. Looking through all the Action movies that were there, he found the typical Bond movies.
Still waiting for Casino Royal to get to DVD. He thought to himself. Leaving the area, taking an other glance at Ryan, she seemed to be the only other in the store, besides the guy behind the counter.
Heading off to where they keep the racing movies, he hoped to grab one of the the new ones.

"It'll be out next month." She said, aloud- hearing what Evan had just thought to himself. She wasn't purposly trying to get inside his head, as she was Rayne earlier- it just seemed to happen that way. When she was here, her guard was down- she could hear everything- even things she couldn't when she was in the school.
Pulling out a movie marked Tamara, a sly grin came to her face. She remembered this movie- it had been one of her favorites earlier on. The thoughts of witches in high school, wasn't as far fetched anymore. Something that she could relate to when no human knew what it was to be a Mutant... when they were nothing more than fairy tales.

Evan looked up. "Reading my mind now?" Evan called over the racks of moives. Grabbing no racing movie in particular, he looked down at it. It was called, Underground racing, basicly one of those race movies where people out run the cops, always good fun.
Evan taking the movie in hand he walked over to Ryan and looked over her shoulder. "Witch movies? May I suggest Harry Potter, a story of a boy in a magical school, not much differnet than our own?" He laughed, and scanned the shelf until he found the 4th movie that came out. "See look how happy he is."

"Does the word Goober mean anything to you?" She asked, sarcastically before shaking her head. She was a Horror Girl. A good horror movie had it all, so there was no need for anything else.
"Yeah, he's happy because Hermione's giving him some." She joked, as she bent down and reached for another movie. She stopped herself though- she'd seen that one before. hell, there wasn't a horror flick that she couldn't say she had watched about twenty times. Running her finger along the shelf, she scrunched up her nose, as she tried to think. Ted was in the back talking on the phone- she could hear what he was thinking about saying- but she wasn't trying to. She didn't want to know what he was doing- but certain words spiked her interest.
Ryan stood, grabbing a movie titled Rose Red, as she stood. She was still- her back facing the front desk, but her head focused on it.

"True, True." Evan said putting the Harry movie away. He couldn't think of any good comebacks for the goober remark, so he just ignored it. Ryan picked up an other horror movie. Evan had never seen the movie, he wasn't a horror lover, but he watched them at times, mainly with a girlfriend or something.
His mind drifted to his second year at the school. He had a steady girl friend, she wasn't a mutant but she didn't have a problem with them. They were watching a scary movie, Pet Cemetery, well to Evan it was more funny than anything, but his girlfriend got scared, and ended up right in his arms where he wanted her to be. They started kissing...Evan stopped, he was vaguely aware of Ryan going into a trance like mood, she was focusing on something.
Stopping where he was in his dream, he was afraid thats what Ryan was trying to listen too. He didn't want to go any farther, he didn't want Ryan knowing anything.
"Ryan...you there?....earth to Ryan?" Evan waved his hand in her face.

"Huh? What?" Ryan said, as she turned her attention back toward Evan. It was hard to consintrate sometimes, but when she coulf focus on something- it was the only thing that existed. That was good in many ways- just incase she needed to help out the team- of course, under an attack it could get her killed.
"I'm sorry... Uh...Harry Potter...Not a fan." She said again with a smile. Giving one last look in Ted's direction, she turned back to the shelf of movies behind her and let her eyes gaze over them once more. She was in heaven- if her life were a horror movie she'd be content... but, no it was an adventure... and Adventure marked PG-13, and those were always the boring ones.
"God..." Ryan scoffed. "Nothing exciting ever happens around here..." She said to herself.

Ryan seemed to come of of her dase. She looked like she was still alttile lost. Evan smiled again. He hated when he space out, and people just stared at him like he was crazy. He figured it would be the same for Ryan.
"Is anyone?" Evan asked. He wasn't the biggest Potter fan around, he had read a few of the books, but the movies just sucked. Evan needed the speed and adrenaline rush of racing movies and action films. Half the time he wished he was granted with super speed.
An other ding of the door went off as two kids came in and hurryed to the video game section of the store. Evan glanced over at them and back to Ryan. "Your right, not to much happens around here. We should make something happened. What ever happened to X-men vs. Brotherhood. I guess now that era of mutants is over." Ryans Uncle was a huge part of that time back when mutants were called animals and basicly shunned from all normal human life.

Ryan gave Evan a slight look- her uncle used to tell her of that battle. One that she didn't really think was over. No, there would always be two sides to everything- mutants were no better. She smirked at the idea- that would indeed make things a bit interesting around here. Just something little, would set off a ripple- like a raindrop falling into a pond... It would start small, but get huge until the entire space was inside it.
"Maybe..." She said. If anyone would know, it would be Wolverine. She couldn't possible search through the Headmistress' mind- she'd be in far more trouble if she were to be caught. No, Logan would be easy- and hopefully, he wouldn't find out. She needed information.

Ryan gave Evan a quizical look. Evan wasn't really sure what to make of it. She seemed to go into an other brain storming mood. Evan learned you couldn't tell Ryan know once an idea was in her head. He heard enough from Ethan to know. "What are you thinking?" Evan asked, starting to wonder what Ryan was about to do.

"Nothing... Uh, I'll see you later, okay?" She said, not really giving him a chance to answer before, grabbing her record, and heading out the door. She wasn't stealing it, she paid for it about three months ago- putting it on hold so that Ted could order it for her. She could tell that Evan was wondering what she was thinking about, even before he said anything- little things that make being a mind reader good- is hearing what you want.

Evan watched her go, something was really on her mind. He would have to see if he noticed anything strange that she was up too, but then again, how do you spy on a mind reader? He shruged to himself adn paided for his movie. Walking out the front door with a ding, he grabbed his board from behind a planter in front of the store and rode off back to the Academy. He couldn't find Ryan on the streets.
